One Chinese Entrepreneur’s Prescription for More Innovation


A Chinese tech entrepreneur-turned-economist is calling on Chinese authorities to shorten the length of time students must spend in K-12 education so that college graduates can begin work earlier – and also have more time to start a family.

James Liang, chief executive and co-founder of China’s largest Internet travel portal International Ltd., said Chinese students spend too much time preparing for college and high school entrance exams, which he called a waste of teaching and other resources.
